Life lately seems to be all about taking the lemons and making them sweeter. And it feels like there’s be a lot of lemons lately. This fun lemon dress reminds me to look on the bright side.

I bought this lemon-print dress early on in quarantine thinking it would be a great warm-weather office look, not then realizing I’d be working from home for the whole summer!

This dress has a great silhouette, and I’m obsessed with the top-to-bottom buttons and the fun tie waist. I’ll never turn down a good shirtdress, and I love that this one is on the dressier end of casual. Yellow and blue is a great color combo. The print is whimsical without being kiddish and fun without being busy.

One of the things I love most about this dress is that it reminds me of my favorite dress when I was a kid. My mom had gotten me and my sister matching sundresses that had lemons and oranges printed all over. We called them our “lemonade dresses” and would wear them every time we set up a lemonade stand on the curb. This feels like a grown-up version of that. While I might not be setting up shop in my driveway, it very much feels like a piece that will be a favorite for years to come.

What’s a way you’ve turned lemons into lemonade lately?

Had to turn cancelled trips into a staycation? Took newfound free-time and finally finished the DIYs you’ve been putting off? What’s a way you’ve had to turn life’s sour moments during quarantine sweet?
